Emma Crabtree - Skipton

I studied Business and Retail at Oxford Brookes University, before working in higher education, firstly at Leeds Beckett University in Administration and then at The University of Leeds as a Student Support Manager.

In 2009 I was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour and unfortunately had to retire earlier than anticipated.

Following this I travelled a lot with family and friends, and, despite my prognosis, I continue to stay extremely well, and keep positive. I have always loved drawing and during lockdown I self-published my first Children’s book, “Big Boy’s Birthday Walk” to raise money towards Brain Tumour Research.

I enjoyed creating my first book so much that I decided to continue on this path and In September 2022 I completed my second book, “Big Boy’s Trip to the Farm.

My aim is to complete a series of Books under the Umbrella “The Adventures of Big Boy (and friends)” and raise as much Awareness and funding for Brain Tumour Research as possible.

“I have always loved drawing and would usually doodle in friends birthday cards. I kept thinking about maybe doing a children’s book, so in lockdown, I did just that!”
